Software Engineer Intern · Twinly
Building and shipping software as part of the engineering team — writing production code, collaborating across the stack, and turning ideas into working product.
01 — Profile
I'm a Data Science undergraduate at San José State University (4.0 GPA, Class of 2026) who lives at the intersection of analytics and engineering. Whether it's predicting heart-attack risk with machine learning or wiring up a voice-activated AI assistant, I like turning messy data and rough ideas into things people can actually use.
Right now I'm interning as a Software Engineer at Twinly while running data analytics at IDX Exchange and improving learning platforms at Knodemy. My toolkit spans Python, Java, SQL and the modern web — backed by a Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate and a stubborn habit of shipping.
When I'm not building, I'm teaching: mentoring young developers at All Star Code and running robotics curricula for the next generation of makers.
02 — Experience
Building and shipping software as part of the engineering team — writing production code, collaborating across the stack, and turning ideas into working product.
Designed Tableau dashboards tracking housing-market KPIs, transformed raw MLS/IDX datasets with SQL/Python, and surfaced insights through exploratory data and statistical analysis.
Contributed to software and platform improvements, built technical learning materials for CS programs, and improved learning-and-demo efficiency by 20%.
Developed and delivered hands-on robotics curriculum for youth, fusing hardware and software integration, and mentored students through inclusive STEM programs.
Led and mentored 20 aspiring developers through an immersive summer program — running workshops on HTML, CSS and JavaScript and giving one-on-one feedback on technical problem-solving.
Instructed 50+ students in core curriculum, lifting participation by 50% through differentiated instruction, personalized feedback and reward-based motivation systems.
03 — Selected Work
A modular voice-activated AI assistant I work on — wake-word detection, Whisper speech-to-text, text-to-speech output, real-time voice chat, a tunable personality engine, and RAG-based memory backed by ChromaDB.
An ML pipeline that predicts heart-attack risk from health and lifestyle indicators — combining exploratory data analysis of risk factors with trained classification models for individual risk assessment.
A problem-report tool with a vanilla JS frontend and a Flask + SQLite backend (Dockerized), with graceful localStorage fallback when the API is offline.
Real-estate analytics tied to my IDX Exchange work — turning raw MLS/IDX feeds into structured datasets and KPI dashboards that track pricing and inventory trends.
A Python command-line tool that parses a book and reports text statistics — word counts and character-frequency analysis.
The original problem-report template — a lightweight static web app persisting entries to the browser, the foundation that ProblemPad 2.0 grew from.
An earlier hand-built portfolio site — my first dive into crafting layouts and responsive design from scratch with HTML and CSS.
Experiments, coursework, and works-in-progress over on GitHub.
